Abstract

Sequential writing circumstances in questioned documents
Dr. Mohamed Awadalla
General Manager of fraud detection dept; Forensic Medicine Authority, Ministry of Justice, Egypt
Sequential backdating of the document is considered an important type of examination conducted by FDE; as the examiner search on the truth of the document to determine which event occurs first. Backdating of the document is a point of argument between examiners. Document is backdated to make them appear as though they were issued or signed much earlier. On fact the schema of detecting the backdating is different completely from the other work of the examiner as the problem not on the signature but on the sequence of preparation of the document. The signature is genuine but the given date is fraud. The signature may be stolen and backdated the document. There were many factors affect the sequential dating of the questioned document. On our paper we classified these factors into two main approaches “static approaches and dynamic approaches”. The static approaches include all stable factors or with other meaning all stable facts, these facts cannot be changed and is documented by the history such as writing ink, writing tools, stamps, paper. While the dynamic approaches is changeable factors include parameters capable of change or being changed, we sub-divide dynamic approaches into two main factors; factor related to state of the writer with time, the other factor related to the document condition. On the paper we will have a review on most cases and will illustrate case studies from our work and present a recommendation on examinations. Biography
